SMU offensive coordinator Joe Craddock visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the jump from graduate assistant to offensive coordinator, what kind of quarterback he was during his playing days, his relationship with head coach Chad Morris, and the parallels he sees between SMU's quarterbacks and some of the Clemson quarterbacks he coached before he arrived in Dallas.

(Note: this is a long interview, so grab something to eat and put your feet up for this one!)

Do you think Craddack wanted everyone to know that the offense runs multiple formation sets?

Do you think Craddock thought this video was going to stay in PP's personal collection and never see the light of day? Clearly he knew this was going on a public website and wouldn't say anything he didn't want publicly known.

PP came out with the statement about multiple formations not Craddock. Just surprised PP would make that statement when Craddack said in the video that he did not want to give Baylor any info on what they were doing on offense.

Doesn't everybody run multiple formation sets these days...except maybe our previous coach?

Even if I did not, I would say we were going to run multiple formations. Let the other teams prepare for as much as they have to, even if we only run one play.

That or the opposite. If we ran multiple sets I would rather have them prepare for a one set offense and throw them off guard when we ran multiple set. But if we ran multiple sets and they prepare for multiple sets then the opposing team would be in a better state of readiness. Just my opinion.

Well, I guess you do have a point there.

If I am a defensive coordinator scheming against SMU this year I am watching Clemson film.

PP has been super conservative in the past about what parts of interviews to keep and what to cut, so I highly doubt he would put anything out there that would even come close to going against the wishes of the staff.

In the spring, all of the offensive coaches talked about multiple formations, and showed it publically during the spring, so I don't think there are any secrets here...

Since you said it do you have a link to where the coaches were talking about multiple formations publicly in the Spring?

The fact that the offense employs multiple formations is not exactly giving away federal secrets, I don't think. Anyone who watched Clemson while Chad Morris was coaching there can see that his offense uses multiple formations.

And if it were federal secrets the Chinese and Russians would already know, and Hilary would have a hard drive full of JJ rNs stuff at home
