Seaver Myers rumor

Hey Guys, I usually visit this board about once a month just to catch up on what is going on but have never posted here before but I heard a rumor a few weeks ago that might be of interest..

Apparently during spring ball Seaver took a knee to the head when he was pulling on a play and got a concussion (I heard it was his 4th "diagnosed" one but who knows how many go undiagnosed with any of our guys) and that he is being medically retired simply because it is his 4th one and since it is apparently taking him awhile to be symptom free. I recall reading about him also basically shattering his finger during our first game in 2012 vs Baylor I believe and having to have 5 or so screws put into his hand?

I also admit to doing a little Facebook stalking and it looks like he graduated back in May with a double major and is starting Grad school in the Fall at SMU. So if my math is right, this kid was able to graduate in 3 years and double major while being on the football team here at SMU... I don't care who you ask but that's impressive...

Again, I'm not personally 100% sure he is being put on medical but just a thing I heard

Coach Morris said that he is medically retired on the video. Best wishes to the young man in life after football.

Good luck to him.

Austin Corbett, one of our freshman recruits, has had to medically retire.

f its his fourth, then he is through with contact football. Neither SMU nor this player can afford the consequences of another concussion. They are serious with devastating consequences later in life.

I wish him the best going forward and a long, healthy and happy life. He can have it all even without football.

Still on the roster as I write this although the posts above seem ominous and conclusive. Best to him.

I wish him the best.

Long-term health is infinitely more important than having him suit up for us.

Hate to hear this, but sounds like the best decision for him and his future.

wish him the best, he probably is running as many as I have. (8 diagnosed) they happened faster and with less force when I was active, don't know if I would get them as fast today. That's the problem with them, the symptoms and mental capability doesn't spring back as fast as you injuries do.

In a potentially big blow to SMU’s line in both depth and talent, first-year head coach Chad Morris announced that Myers will not play at all this coming season because of an injury. Morris would only say that Myer’s upcoming absence was medically-related and declined to divulge any of the specifics of how or when the injury surfaced.
