How accessible is practice for the fans? Anyone know if they are letting people inside the gates?

We (media) are getting limited access — one day a week (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=78430), and our time out there is very minimal. We'll only be out there for 20-30 minutes, once a week, which means we'll see little more than stretching.

I specifically asked about access today (and other Saturdays) and was told not to show up, that we would be asked to leave. I assume there will be no field access for fans, but don't know since I didn't go.

As Fans, we have all enjoyed your constant excellent reports Pony Pride in the summer & fall, for years which are the Best in the business by the way of any other pay site or not, but these Coaches are serious about developing this team this year as best as possible. I'm sure they don't want some other reporters giving out information to other schools on exactly what we are capable of running concerning certain plays this year etc. However, I think this staff will let fans/reporters see possibly a controlled scrimmage this month before the season starts.

They'll probably do an open to fans vanilla scrimmage before the season starts.

Every year I read the practice reports on here I would think the team would go undefeated. They were kind of worthless to some degree imo anyway. Good move by the coaches. In honor of PP and PF practice reports I will be giving my Faux PF Practice Report. Here is today's PP like report.

Offense

QB's - Looked good. Had tight spirals on most of the throws.

RB's - Line is the best RB in the history of the school.

WR's - Receivers were getting open all practice long. Several impressive catches made today.

OL - O linemen were not letting anyone get to the QB. And the RB's were making big runs all practice due to the large holes that the O linemen made for them.

Defense

D Line - Defensive line was getting to the QB all say. Looked good.

DB - DB's did not let receivers get open at all practice.

LB's - Linebackers were cover backs out of the backfield very well and stuffing the run all practice.

Special teams

Returners did well on punt and kickoff return getting the ball to the 40 yard line most every time.

Punt and kick return defense did well too not allow anyone to get past the 20 yard line.

Next report will be Monday.

Most practice reports during the JJ era mentioned the large number of drops that the wide receivers had.

I know that the first few games of the season hold some real tough challenges for these young guys, but I am really looking forward to the chance to see them looking organized, focused, enthusiastic, and ready to learn. There is a whole lot of learning to do and I hope that even if we are way behind late in the game that we play with a purpose, and gain great experience against some of the top teams in the country. And while we are at it, let's win a few games this season too.

Be careful. Remember how every opponent of Tyson or Ali would seem to be the one who was going to beat Tyson or Ali the closer the fight would get? Only to get punched out sooner than later? Same premise applies here.....
