My favorite quote: “The Bears can hang with SEC teams in football.”

For all the talk of Big 12 stability it seems like everyone in the conference that has options is at least whispering about exploring them. Heck there are even articles about Texas going indy.

I think this all points to the dissolution of the conference when the GOR expires in 2024.

As much as SMU is not a fit - we are closer then Baylor to being a fit. At least we are in a market that matters.

There was no more SEC program in history than Pony Express SMU. Always thought had the DP not occurred that the dismantling of the SWC would've resulted in SMU and Arkansas heading to the SEC. Oh what might have been.

Must be nice to have supportive local journalists who actively take up the sword for your school

As another SEC homer, I'll echo that... no thank you.

Baylor would add nothing to the SEC and is not remotely a "perfect fit" for the SEC. They would add nothing and, culturally, simply are not an SEC school (not that the Agtards are, either... but they do bring TVs and $$$ to the table)...

About the only SEC school that would want Baylor in the league is Mississippi State... and that only because Waco would dislodge Starkville from its permanent spot as worst town in the SEC.

Culturally, SMU is probably the most "SEC" school in Texas. A&M got in because it's huge and brings a lot of TV viewers... not because it was a good cultural fit for the league. SMU, on the other hand, has a very "SEC School" feel on campus (except for that whole attending football games thing... which I'm confident CCM will fix quickly enough).
