He's absolutely right. We've got 3-5 years to get this thing going. Not just going like June had it with 6-7 wins and meaningless bowl victories but 10-11 win seasons, conference titles, and being in the Top 25. If we do that and we continue to play Top 25 caliber basketball SMU will be in a very nice position for realignment possibilities. If Morris fails we will almost certainly never have a chance at a major conference. Combine that with the increasing pressure being put on schools outside the P5 financially and from a scheduling perspective and who knows what could happen next. We might have to be the Georgetown of the Southwest.
These next several years will determine, effectively, whether college football will be a part of SMU's long term future.
