SMU golfer makes history!

Its not football but it is a pretty big deal for SMU -
with credit to 94 -
SMU Mustang just wins the USGA Amateur to make history:
Nicklaus. Mickleson. Woods. Moore. DeChambeau. Bryson becomes just 5th player to win @NCAA title & @USGA #USAmateur in same year. #PonyUp

Smu got some great pub in the golf world this summer. Congrats to Bryson, good luck in the Walker Cup, Masters, US Open, and British Open. Wow.

I heard the announcers mention he said he would turn pro after the Walker Cup which I assume is before all those other. I hope he waits a year and enjoys what Colt Knost is missing out on each year at this time.

That would mean forgoing his senior year at SMU, which he has said he wants to complete and earn his degree. No real way to be a pro golfer and do that. He can turn pro before the Open (after the masters and during the ncaa season) and still compete there I believe.

I thought he was a senior. That makes me feel better. I want him to be able to enjoy the full ride.

I thought he was going to come back and finish his degree as well. I guess we will see.

We'll see. Knost had already graduated and turned pro after the Walker cup.

It might depend on endorsements. I imagine he might have trouble finding a club endorsement - although maybe somebody will jump on him as an avenue to new business.
He shouldn't have any trouble finding endorsements for apparel, balls, etc. with his personality though.

He gave TaylorMade a lot of free advertising while looking for his ball in the trees on #1 (19).
