Coach Morris has lost only one game in four years when his team had at least 80 Plays on offense, according to Chad Morris staff's analysis. I love this Aggie mathematician, thank you.

Did SMU run 80 offensive plays even once in the last 4 years? Those QB trots to the sideline ate up the clock.

When he says "we" he means Clemson, I'm 95% sure.

Offensive coordinator Joe Craddock, who was a graduate assistant at Clemson last season, said SMU’s intent is to run at least 80 plays per game. So the linemen have to be ready.

“Those guys have done a really nice job,” Craddock said. “They took it upon themselves, had a lot of discipline this summer losing weight getting in shape and getting ready to go.”

How did the staff arrive at the goal of 80 plays a game?

“We’ve studied ourselves. … We only had one game in four years that we snapped the ball more than 80 times and still lost,” Craddock said. “It’s the first goal on our what-it-takes-to-win chart.”

Coach Craddock was obviously talking about when he and Coach Morris offense at Clemson had run 80 plays in a game. No way SMU had 80 plays on offense anytime in recent years while the QB was walking miles a game just to talk to JJ between plays.

When the guys watch tape for offense, they watch Clemson tape.

I apologize. I read that story quickly while working. Yeah, I thought to myself the 80 Plays was a lot for the Ponies but it was a great stat. Sorry fellows.

Yeah but it took 3 Overtimes which included 19 extra Offensive snaps-so exactly 80 snaps in regulation
