Yes. They would immediately have the largest fan base in the AAC.

Does this even need to be a question? BYU getting into the AAC would be the greatest thing to ever happy to AAC. Of course, it's doubtful that BYU would want the AAC.

Students on that campus have a lot of "pressure" built up that needs to get out somehow. Don't be a hater! :D

I'm confused by this thread. What makes you ask this question? There's no way BYU would ever consider joining the AAC. They are easily the most appealing non-P5 school in the country and will eventually land in the PAC16.

And BYU is now. They are good at football and basketball, and they have a large fan base.

Yeah, but BYU suffers from Texas/Notre Dame-itis. So I imagine that's why they haven't been picked up. Anybody know what kind of ratings BYU football and basketball ratings get?

They have their own deal with ESPN. They do very well and don't need us. They already make way more money.

Their future problem will be scheduling. After all the P5 people decide that they need the power points to compete for the national title and only schedule among themselves, BYU will be without a national schedule and top opponents. At that time they will need to be in a conference. ND is the exception based on fan base, long time relationship with NBC and history.

That and they have no access to the major bowls, since there is only one spot reserved and it goes to a G5 team. They would basically have to make the playoff. It's not a big thing but over time they may get tired of playing in the same mid-tier bowl over and over.
