First, the ceremonial bath means something great just happened for the team you cover. Second, there’s a good chance it means you where in the right spot for the celebration.
On Saturday night I had a front row seat for the first postgame dunking of SMU’s Chad Morris as a head coach at the collegiate level. A milestone worthy of the showering.
After posting a photo on my Instagram account that night, a photojournalist friend commented, “isn’t it a bit early in the season for gatorade dunks?†When I replied that it was Morris’ first collegiate win, my friend opined, “That’s legit.â€
