My daughter came from Stonewall Jackson Elementary yesterday with a ticket to the JMU game. Apparently, every child at the school got a ticket. Went to dinner with the next door neighbors who got one from their daughter, and they are planning on coming to the game, which means they'll be buying 2 more tickets (because we already have one for our daughter, so they can use her give away for their other kid). Bet they're not the only ones.

Having that large area open to the public where the old Natatorium was is helpful for people who didn't go the SMU. The rest of the experience sells itself. We just have to get them on campus, so hopefully this gets a lot of people.

Yes, for the first time we actually have a decently sized area where the non-affiliated can come hang out and eat and drink. Smart use of the space.

Terrific idea, hoping Lakewood elementary & well as some private schools were also targeted.
Every game from now on needs some type of help to get over 20k, which is important.
Nice job by our AD.

Major fail at women's soccer last night though, where SMU held a contest to win two tickets to the football game tonight, and they were won by a TCU fan.

Yeah....not so fast. I don't like that a TCU fan won the tickets, nor do I like where I women's soccer program is now regarding talent. But that in itself is not a fail. I do like that they brought in over 1K fans in attendance. Contrary to popular sentiment here on PonyFans, football is not the only sport on campus. Having said that, nothing brings the campus together more than a successful football program. All respect given to LB and the basketball team...but this is TX. With both football and basketball raising the tide in performance and expectations, attendance and school spirit will follow for both those programs as well as smaller sports. To get 1K fans in attendance at a women's soccer game is a great sign.
