The Observer needs to do a little research. This is extremely normal in recruiting these days and, in reality, the recruits absolutely love it.

I also like that the coaches are keeping tabs on what prospects post on Twitter. Character is a big deal and you can learn a lot about a kid by what he posts on social media.

Just for reference, google 'worst athlete tweets' or 'funny athlete tweets.' One of them has already cost a kid a scholarship and had him banned from his old Catholic school.

I consider it an extension of the 'we will be checking up on you' approach that one would expect from a college coach. Didn't some coach ban his players from using it? Can't imagine this is any worse.

I'm not very up on things. Don't do Facebook even. Had to google for SJW. Glad I read this thread. Otherwise never would have seen the Tweets by Justin de Fratus and Michael Richards in one of the "funny athlete tweet" returns.
