Thanks for coming to SMU Coach Morris.

Note to RGT: Please do not slow play this coach on and IPF or anything else. He is worth the investment for the betterment of SMU.

He is the perfect fit here. Texas high school coaching legend, incredible energy, innovative coaching philosophy, and willing to to whatever it takes to engage fans/students/etc.

Think about how to pay CM and staff on the side. Profs will not take a huge raise for CM and staff well.
Friends of SMU need to step up and maybe under BS's guidance sign some exclusive business agreements with this staff..... Of Course... all predicated on them staying as coaches here.
Otherwise... agreement is null and void.

Lock Arms.

What are the terms of CM's current contract?

The profs don't really have that much pull. If RGT can plow through them for the library, he can handle explaining high comp to a football coach. If you have a hang up about that you might as well get out of higher education. Check the salaries at all our football playing peers.

He is a perfect hire. It's hard not to think this will be happening faster than we thought, and that will quickly change our culture.

Pretty sure CM is one of if not they highest paid G-5 coach in the country. I hope we found the guy who wants to be here for a long time because I think he is going to win the AAC in his 3rd year and other programs will come knocking. Heck June jones got 2 P5 programs to come calling just by beings mediocre.

This is one of those times where Scouting your Rivals from across the Shore is helpful.

It's a pretty simple argument... ask the profs, if they like getting increases in their salaries, improved facilities for their research, etc. Then explain to them (might have to get a couple business professors to help with this) that a successful football program drives donations... and more donations means higher salaries, better facilities, etc for all facets of the university.

If SMU ever got P5 status, we would be one of the 3 destination jobs in the state of Texas, arguably 2nd only to UT. Chad may prefer A&M, but for those without ties to College Station, there simply is no comparison between the cities (Fran's wife stayed here while he coached the Aggies).

I'm a hot-shot young coach with multiple offers. I can raise my family in Dustville West Tx, loony Waco, Cowtown, College Station or Highland Park. Remember, I want my kids to get a top notch education. Hmmm, tough choice.
