I forgot to mention what I saw at the UNT game. A lady put her huge purse in one of the clear bags SMU handed out and they let her in.

OT: Longtime season ticket holder DENIED entry at Gate 1. He'd been entering that gate for years - including the previous week's Baylor game. Said he would have to walk down to Gate 3 - and then walk back to his seat in 101. Nothing to "declare" but his car keys and cash for beer. He was pist off before he got in the stadium. Why make things difficult? Seems there are a different set of rules every home game. People who make those weekly rules apparently don't give a rat's...

Yes, the security people we hire (or whatever) is just ridiculous at times. Same thing at Moody.

somebody got to Hart about this and convinced him of this non-sense. most schools do not have this insane policy and even less that average have full stadiums on most games. we are trying to get people to attend games and then have this ridiculous high security causing lines, delays, and turn-aways for people wanting in. Hello? Anybody home? i hear Hart is adamant about this new policy....who knows maybe the Secret Service asked for it....but how often does W attend games to cause the inconvenience for the peasants at every game. So now even more people hang a little longer on the Blvd trying to avoid the security lines around kickoff.

Meanwhile at the TCU game, no such security and completely lax security. You can leave at halftime with no issues and didn't really even care to see my ticket going back in. Showed a folded up ticket and didn't even have to open it up.

Quite a difference and super easy. Not mention, 4x the amount of people. How to not build a fan base by SMU

we will see more and more stadiums going this way...it's a sign of the times we live in...Boston Bomber etc...besides protecting beer/food sales....it's probably liability related (CYA).
