Chad Morris picks the defensive coordinator and should be held responsible for that

I know Chad is the solution. But that was a horrible advertisement for him. He murdered all of his progress tonight which is sad.

They wrecked us at home as much as a Top 5 team did on the road...let's quit with the "but they are a good team" mess.

Sat one section over from the recruit section. It was chock full. And we laid an egg. That's going to hurt.

Also was prime time to show alums and students who don't normally come to games that things are different.

Yeah, we hit a wall. Now Chad has to pick it up and make progress.

Think about Briles at BU - he got gut punched so many times but was able to convince kids that they could play and improve under his tutelage.
Same thing CM has to do - convince the recruits that he can make them better, they will play , and will have a good experience at SMU.

BU was a far bigger sell when Briles arrived than what CM faces. At least CM HAS A WEAK CONFERENCE where he can win games if he gets marginally better.

Well I will say June would have lost to this decent FCS team but 40 points had he been around. Remember the FCS teams we played before were mediocre as best. Why we scheduled a tough FCS team is beyond me. I think scheduling Kansas would have made more sense.

What was Van's job at OSU?

Almost lost to Montana St. two years ago. GG willed that team to victory.

SMU also didn't play an FCS team last year. JMU would have buried us last year

Agreed. It would have been a much worse loss with June as HC.

Why would we invite recruits to this game? To show off the empty East bleachers? To show that we are almost as good as an FCS team?

It was supposed to be an easy win, at least that's how most teams draw it up. For some reason we like to schedule Top 10 FCS teams.

Agreed, whoever schedule to play a historically great FCS team should be shot.
