Very sad situation. He's apparently going through a messy divorce now, too...hope he can get the help he needs but I would think USC has to go in another direction after this year

If I was Houston or Memphis I would start searching for a new coach now. Gone: Illinois, Maryland, USC, and likely coming open Rutgers (who would want that), Miami, and maybe the other USC. Ripple effect going up.

^ This board doesn't have enough speculation on any one day, so let's assume that Sumlin winds up at USC. Would A&M hire CM after 1 year at SMU? If not, a different hire at A&M could help ensure that CM stays here for another 3+ years.

Morris is going to lose 9+ games this season so no A&M will not hire him. And yes a different hire at A&M could potentially keep Morris here longer but it's still possible some other big time job could take him after he gets us up and running.

All Hell is breaking loose. Spurrier just announced he was retiring. This may be a wild year for coaching changes.

Morris will be on their radar but will not be their first choice. Taking a look at that article will also show who A&M will go after. If they swing and miss on those then Morris may get a look.
