Will Grier was suspended for 1 year for using a PED. Under NCAA rules if found guilty of using a PED it carries an automatic 1 year suspension. Florida however is appealing per their head coach.

If he was caught using a band substance, odds are they are very sure of the drug. Contrary to popular belief, drug testing is very sophisticated and can detect the difference between a band drug and a similar chemical compound that isn't band.

A very common example is the use of a popular antihistamine that on screening looks like cocaine. Further testing can show the difference and could over a generation ago.

The 1984 Olympics were boycotted by the Soviets not just because of political reasons, but the drug detection in the US was so sophisticated that it could detect band substances even out to a year. In other words, most of the soviet athletes would fail the drug tests.

Drug testing works on the scree and confirm principle. One screens and if there is a suspect substance, then the more sophisticated and sensitive testing begins.

I guess you must have saw the interview. It was something over the counter according to what the QB said. Whether that is true or not who knows. But he tested positive.
