DMN: Oil's Collapse and Affect on Athletic Donations

Postby Stallion » Wed Oct 21, 2015 2:37 pm

DMN wrote an article about what I've been wondering about myself

I've been concerned about this with regard to the timing of the IPF and related projects-could be why SMU may be scaling back their plans

"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Him and anyone who owns an energy sector stock.

Thankfully Gerald Ford is in banking and Hilltop has been doing fine

The main reason we have to rework the IPF is because the early program and estimates were utterly ridiculous. There is no reason why ours should be 3X the cost of the typical IPF. It will happen, and it will be a normal 30-40 million dollar facility.

Low oil prices hurt any industry pressured by imports.

Purdue is in rural Indiana, not Chicago or NYC.

I work in the oil and gas M&A world. Companies that didn't leverage properly in the halcyon days of $100/barrel are really hurting. The Houston economy has been far more dramatically impacted than here in Dallas but we are feeling throughout Texas.
Back off Warchild seriously.

which means a large portion of your labor force will be travelers and demand a per diem. I imagine it's also unionized up there while USGC is mostly non Union.
