"To me, we're not selling out every home game," said Herman on his radio show. "I would ask why? What more do you need to see? You need better product on the field or more exciting games? I'm confused when I ask Cougar Nation why are you not at every home game? I get some really blank stares sometimes because the answer is ‘Coach, I don't have a reason.' There isn't a good reason.”

I'm guessing his next job will be somewhere the fans actually give a [deleted].

Yeah, I just noticed that. Haha, sorry.

For the sake of the conference and our rivalry with them I hope he stays for a few years. I do think he gives it more than one, but who knows.

He doesn't have the resume yet. He's kind of being a little JJ-like with whining about the fans. They're best win is what Tulsa or Louisville? Heck I think our TCU win in 2011 was more notable than what they have currently. When they play Memphis, lets see they're true talent.

As of now, he's going to get some P5 job offers, but I think just how good some of those jobs will be depends on how the rest of the season plays out for them.

They still have Cincy, Memphis and Navy on the schedule. Also UCF, Vandy and Uconn, but they suck so who cares about those games.

Cincy - Always a tough out, they play decent defense, and have actually looked better with Hayden Moore replacing Gunner Kiel IMO. Houston should win, but it's no sure thing.

Memphis - I don't think they get past Memphis. Yes this game is played in Houston, but Memphis is just too good. They handled the only team to beat Alabama twice in the past years.

Navy - Houston could be 11-0 or 10-1 going into this game, but they'll only have a week to prepare for the option game. I say toss up game. If Kennan Reynolds is actually healthy by the time they play this game, watch out. Dude can ball. Yes Houston is more talented and clearly should win, but as we've seen time and time again, the option can be a total [deleted] to stop if you're not used to seeing it.

Best Case - Houston is 13-0 after beating probably a 10-2 Temple team in the AAC champ game. Houston gets the NE6 bowl game and Herman never even coaches it because he's got a sweet P5 job in South Carolina or Arkansas.

Reality - Houston ends up 11-1 outside of the champ game, Herman get's some good offers, and then he has to decide if he wants to hold out for the UT gig next year after strong inevitably goes 5-7 in 2016, or go ahead and bolt for somewhere like Maryland. Because, YAY UNDER ARMOUR $$$, he probably bolts.

Worst case (for us) - They lose to all three above, are 9-3 and Herman decides the Illinois and Vandy jobs sucks so he sticks around another year.

Uh...coach; that's why you play in the AAC at G5 level with SMU. Despite having a much larger student/alumni population to draw from, Houston has the same football fan apathy issue that SMU does

I think the best case scenario for us is for him to stay, grow the UH brand and the rivalry with us. We (the AAC) need to figure out how to grow the conference and not have our best talent bolt. We need to nut up and start playing at UH's level, not hoping they drop to our level.

I guess Herman is using the June Jones exit strategy since he is complaining about attendance.

you mean not doing anything until someone feels forced to buy out your contract? I somehow don't see that in the cards for Herman

he hasn't done enough to whine about attendance. This isn't Columbus where there isn't anything else to do.

A big part of June's exit strategy was tanking the season right after his attendance complaints. Something tells me Herman will avoid doing that.
