For those going to Tampa

Postby CA Mustang » Thu Oct 22, 2015 11:40 pm

I didn't see anything about a tailgate hosted by the alumni assoc. and/or Mustang Club, so I guess we are on our own. Anyone planning to meet at a sports bar before (or after) the game?

I'll be getting there right about game time as I'm making the drive up from Miami, so no pregame for me.
Fwiw, there was to be a tailgate which was promoted along with the other out of town games. Zero tickets (to the tailgate ) were sold,so it was cancelled.

I missed that, but I guess it doesn't matter as they would have canceled even if I bought a ticket.

See you inside the stadium!

Count the total number of parents, divide by 4, add 20 = SMU fans at game.

There must be at least some SMU alumni in Tampa, right?

Doh! Flying in to Tampa on Monday afternoon for business and staying walking distance from the USF campus. Too late now to reschedule my weekend plans.

I've got a conflict or would otherwise normally make this road trip. Two years ago I would guess we had a "crowd" of about 200 at the game and probably close to 100 at the Mustang Club tailgate. Playing in Raymond James Stadium, USF crowd looks lost and there were maybe 18k in attendance (announced was over 20k as I recall). They put the SMU faithful near the goal line but our group moved over and watched from the 40 yard line on the visitor's side, about 20 rows up. Would love to be at this one as I do believe it will be our best shot at a road win this year. Will only be able to watch the 1st half on ESPNNews so will have to record this one and find out late Saturday night if we can actually play a 60 minute game

I don't want to get stuck in weather or I would leave my recliner
