16 DAYS FOR THIS?

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Sat Oct 24, 2015 6:59 pm

SMU had 16 day's to heal, rest and prepare for the South Florida Bulls.

The results--another individual and team record setting day, for an SMU opponent-with ESPN Top 10 highlights to boot.
An anemic, apathetic effort team performance.
Disgraceful performance by the o-line.
Three stooges display on special teams.
CB's are so bad, that 2 wr's made their college debut. ( #21 Deion Sanders- #3 Cedric Lancaster)
I could go on, but I'm too disgusted.

I'm very aware of our talent level, that's not my complaint.

Someone said at the beginning of the season that midway through the season we would be pleasantly surprised by JJ and his staff's video recruits. Well that prediction was way off.

Looks like we've packed it in for the season. If you think today's game was bad wait until we visit Annapolis and Memphis.

Sounds like something JasonB would say.

so Lancaster and Sanders played DB-probably about 6 months too late but why not-they aren't ever going to play otherwise. I guess Jeanyls 2 flame thrower plays at a gasoline pump at the start of the 2nd Half made them look for other alternatives

One of smu's coaches tweeted that this was the best week of practice ever. Glad that it wasn't a bad practice week

Was wondering how long it would take rebel10 to bring up the talent level. Appears to be 4 min. People seemed to think this staff would show improvement later in the year. Hopefully next game is the start

JasonB Defensive Evaluation Expert-he actually posted that he would be shocked if MacLaurin is able to contribute next year over all those returning DTs with a combined 1 TFL and 0 sacks

Don't know either of you, but from what was on that thread, the above is about as close to what he actually posted as we are to a successful season.

I know you have an issue with the guy, as you do with kids on your lawn...but at least stick to what he said. If I missed any post other than where he asked for your opinion on whether MacLaurin would see playing time (size and skills are great, but current staff seems to emphasize redshirting big guys), then my bad. Either way, your points would be much better made if done absent irrational emotionality.

The Sanders at DB experiment ought to be fun. Not positive, but don't think he's ever played the position? At least he has small and slow going for him.

Guess that track star SEC transfer at corner didn't pan out. Bring on the true freshmen next year, along with a hope and a prayer.

sit back, watch and learn. They aren't playing their freshman lineman because they aren't physically near ready to play. Most were 30 pounds away from playing. If they had a decent freshman Lineman-they would have played them ESPECIALLY on defense. McLaurin will be physically ready to play from Day 1
