Rebel 10 and JJRebel10,
what is your infatuation with JJ? Damn near every one of your posts are about him. Things everyone on this board knows: JJ did not construct a staff that excelled in recruiting JJ did not put near enough emphasis in recruiting TX JJ did not put near enough emphasis in recruiting in general JJ was lazy JJ was lazier after ASU debacle JJ left us with a team lacking talent, size, strength and speed. I don't think one person on this board has disputed any of those. After every loss, you take it as an opportunity to talk about the lack of talent. WE ALL KNOW THIS. I think everyone agrees we now have the right head man for the job, a staff that knows recruiting is the lifeblood of any college program and things WILL get turned around. It is evident by looking at the freshman and current commits, the trajectory of our recruiting. This doesn't mean that the current coaches x's and o's and gameday decisions can't be questioned on this board or have a conversation regarding our progress (or lack there of) this season...we know the staff is playing with half a deck, but again, that has nothing to do with assessing our progress as the season goes on or talking about scheme.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJIn a defense to Rebel 10 and those including me who bash JJ, every time we watch our team play and fall apart (typically after the half) we are reminded of the diabolical laziness of JJ and the admin who left him there to drive off a cliff. The worst part is you sometime hear/see a few people who are like "JJ was a great coach, he got you to 4 bowls" and then your teeth grind and you vent on here. (At least in my circumstances).

Amen BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJLet's take a poll about it.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
I think all you see is "he got us to 4 bowls". I don't think you see anyone claiming "great coach".
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
You and ponyboy have both made that claim many times BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJAt this point I think he is just reminding everyone to have patience with Chad because he was left a big bag of nothing.
That is all.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
Thanks man. I think these kids are hard workers that give effort and do not quit but that is not saying that we have the talent to do what we need to do at this point. Some people are ready to fire coaches right now and have to even given them a fair chance to get few recruiting classes in place. #HammerDown
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
Actually this post was about your obsession with JJ, not about 'firing' any coaches. "This doesn't mean that the current coaches x's and o's and gameday decisions can't be questioned on this board or have a conversation regarding our progress (or lack there of) this season...we know the staff is playing with half a deck, but again, that has nothing to do with assessing our progress as the season goes on or talking about scheme." Instead of waiting for a few more recruiting classes, he seemed to be encouraging an x's and o's/scheme conversation, as well as a lack of progress conversation, now. Seems reasonable, and a lot more interesting.
Re: Rebel 10 and JJFootballdad, I think you were one of the ones calling for Coach Malone's head this year. You can draw stuff up on the board but that does not mean it will be executed like it is drawn up and lot of times the other team has a lot to do with that. Just think we need to give the staff a chance.

SMU @coachchadmorris: "You create your own luck by working hard and playing smart, and both of those things require absolutely zero talent"
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
That is one thing Coach Morris said after the loss to USF and I think he is right. He said that this team gave good effort and did not quit. #HammerDown
Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
He said it again at the luncheon today. Coach Malone also said something along the lines of "when you're not bigger, stronger, faster you need to play perfect, and as a coach you have to call the perfect play every time." That's a tall order, especially playing mostly freshmen and with coaches who are first time coordinators. I really think these guys (coaches and players) are trying to give us all they got; it just might not be enough to translate on the scoreboard this year. Re: Rebel 10 and JJ
Thanks Ryan. I don't think they are playing mostly freshmen this year but next year you might see more true freshman and redshirt freshmen playing. #HammerDown
Re: Rebel 10 and JJI was actually surprised to hear HCCM say today that he expected to play 13-15 freshmen and so far he's played 21 and might play more. I didn't think it had been that many either until he said that.
