Baylor doesn't deserve to be Top 4 because of their non-conference schedule-it sucks-and I love it when schools that play [deleted] teams get hammered by this Poll. Either play a strong schedule of sit your [deleted] down. TCU has nothing to be ashamed of-they are doing just about as well as can be expected with a completely rebuilt Defense-in fact I thought they'd lose about 4 games-and I think they still may lose about 2 maybe 3 games

Houston is low, should be ahead of Northwestern. Memphis is in a good spot.

TCU at 8 is a joke, and I hate TCU. They should be higher, but I guess both them and Baylor will have their opportunity to prove themselves against each other, OU, and OSU over the next month. And [deleted], OSU gets TCU, Baylor, and OU all in Stillwater. That's huge.

Bama has one loss and who's their best win? Wisconsin? Tennessee?

Baylor and TCU both played us. Strength of schedule will kill them.

So, if Oklahoma State wins their next 6 games, they are national champs?

Yes, 3 of which are in Stillwater and one at Iowa State

So what's Bama's excuse with that murderous Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Monroe, and Charleston Southern non-conference schedule? Add in a loss already, and there's no way they should be ahead of Baylor or TCU.

Here is a better way to look at it
The Upshot wrote:When the first College Football Playoff ranking came out around this time last year, Ohio State was ranked 16th. The Buckeyes not only made the tournament but also won it in convincing style, beating Alabama and Oregon.

A failure on the committee’s part? Not exactly. The bigger problem is the way the rest of us analyze the rankings. We pay too much attention to the specific order and not enough to the buckets into which each team falls. It may have been deeply surprising that a team starting at No. 16 rose to become champion. It was less surprising that a one-loss conference champion – which describes Ohio State – won it all.

If the OU/OSU Bedlam Game is for the Big 12 title and a playoff spot, that would be WILD

Given that the Big 12 doesn't play a championship game, if they end up with all teams with at least one loss again this year, I could see a one loss PAC 12 champion leapfrogging over them.

Also not that it will happen, but since UNC only loss was at the first game of the season, if they win out and beat an undefeated Clemson in the championship, would they make the playoff?
