We'll take the 3+ million, thank you. And you can have a 1-8 coach with 6 months experience and a loss to a D2 school. Cool.

We all agree that HCCM seems to be a good coach, but no school is going to hire him with our current record.

And Morris isn't going anywhere anyway so put a lid on it.

With the ACC TV contract money they could buy him out if they wanted. I think he stays though. But if he did go who would we get? That might be what would hurt.

I'm sorry, but this is a ridiculous post. The buyout would add no long-term value versus the reputation hit of a coach bailing on SMU after nine games. The won-loss record thus far says very little about the improved offense, the improved team effort, the improved recruiting, the improved engagement, and the improved mid- and long-term outlook. Six months' experience isn't even an accurate description of how long Chad Morris has coached SMU, never mind your ignoring his vastly relevant and highly impressive experience prior to arriving on the Hilltop.

And you don't know what Division 2 is.
