2016 schedule

OOC- @unt, liberty, @baylor, TCU

Conference road games-ecu, temple,Tulsa, Tulane

Home- Houston,Memphis, usf, navy

Are any of these teams suppose to see serious regression after this year because that's looking like a pretty tall order next season. Only gimmes I can pick out are liberty (hopefully), unt, and Tulane.

Also, does anyone else want another shot at JMU? I know it won't happen, but one can wish

Memphis and Navy graduate a lot of starters. Temple too.

Why is it the exact same conference opponents as this year? Shouldn't we rotate teams we play from the other division? Still no UCONN, Cinci, or UCF?

Now we won't get UCONN self proclaiming a rivalry against us :(

Not exactly a schedule to help with home attendance. Hopefully TCU brings a huge crowd.

If there is enough talent regression in the other teams we could win 4 to 6 games next year.

Also 22, we starting this year now that Navy has entered the conference we will rotate every 2 years. But I would rather play Tulane than UConn for now.

It is not up to the opposing teams to bring fans, it's up to SMU.

None of the teams that beat us are expected to regress enough to equalize the differences in talent. We'll be underdogs to nine of those teams next season.

Time to book a hotel for Philly; however, that giant stadium (which will be empty) is never going to have the great atmosphere that Navy's stadium had.

Navy usually brings a big crowd.

From a crowd perspective, Cougar High is probably "next best" in the AAC.

*Somewhere a cornfield whispers* "Win lots of games and don't play garbage defense and they will come..."

We were within one score of the following teams in the fourth quarter (or had the lead) despite having the 126th ranked defense in the nation:

TCU
JMU
ECU
Temple
Tulsa

The only game this year where we had our doors blown off from the get-go was Navy who just might be the G5 representative in the NYD Bowl. Also, we were the most improved (statistically) offense from 2014 to 2015 in the country despite playing a record number of freshmen. Is it not safe to assume that these kids who were 6 months removed from their senior prom will be vastly improved after a year of playing the toughest schedule in the nation? I think that's reasonable.

I am all for selling tickets, but if there is no NCAA FBS attendance requirement, then why do we care if the opponent brings fans?

It's a 2 year rotation. We alternate home/away in the second year, then change opponents in the third.

I am just glad we have a road game to Tulane. Although, I will miss going to the super dome. They had the best bloody Mary's.

Superdome location was convenient to walk to from the hotels & Bourbon St, but I'm looking forward to checking out their new on campus stadium.
