Usually that happens if you don't get chosen.

Let's see where his name pops up next

Not in this case. I think he was the front runner but his agent told him to stay put and wait for a better job.

...and its possible South Carolina gave him a deadline-I would if I saw all these big openings appearing on the horizon

LSU? Certainly seems to be a better job than South Carolina and can still utilize relationships in the area built this year.

There are better jobs out there than South Carolina. Stay put and see what else happens. Smart.

Apparently Herman and his agent did decide to go a different way. Probably waiting on LSU or Texas.

Heard today that Miles is 100% out at LSU and Jimbo Fisher will be the new LSU coach. Seems no one knows why but Fisher wants out or FSU.

It would make sense that Louisiana native Vic goes with him Jimbo too

He's smart - Houston is the better job right now.

They've shown they'll pay him, no state income tax (does SC have one? Honest Question) they have a brand new stadium, FAR less competition, FAR better recruiting, living in Houston is better for someone who wants city living (although that's a judgement call) he's already got a very successful season under his belt AND he's got to follow Steve Spurrier, arguably the best coach they ever had? I'd stay put, too.

He didn't say he was staying in Houston

State income tax is such an overused argument when states with no state income tax have ridiculous property taxes to make up for it.

I was going to say that. I hate having to pay state tax in Arkansas, but when I was looking to move back to Texas and saw the property taxes I have had to reconsider. When I retire my income will drop and the high property taxes in Texas would punish me.

Income tax or not the only job open right now I would absolutely leave Houston for is USC.
