His graduate assistant, Randall Joyner, got the same treatment.

Something is up here-reassigning coaches with 1 game left with both being former SMU coaches/players and Hawaii considering hiring former head coach

Hawaii reassigned another coach last week. But this statement probably did not help him.

During one point in the first half, during which San Jose State converted all seven third-down attempts, defensive coordinator Tom Mason pleaded whether anyone had a solution.

“I said through the headsets, ‘Somebody give a third-down call. Hell, I’ve run out of them,’ ” Mason recalled.

I heard that he said something through the headsets to the effect of: what is the point of calling a play if the players won't execute it.

Essentially, the team quit on Chow, got him fired, and is a mess.
