Dont think we need to be worried about beating Memphis quite yet.

It'll be about 6 weeks before SMU beats Memphis.

Actually we are swapping places in football also. We will both benefit from good transfers, but our overall freshman recruiting is better then Memphis now.

It is? SMU's quality of recruits is at 80.79 while Memphis has a 82.14. You guys have about 23 commits to our 13. We are only taking 15-20 this class. We are at full numbers and don't have to recruit quantity unlike SMU. We can be selective now in who we target. If Norvell can pull of 4 straight commits like he did this week with P5 offers and he is dropping Fuente's recruits with higher rated guys we are doing better than SMU.

I believe we will still have more recruits with P5 offers when you take your top 20 and put them against our top 20. That is once you get 20 commits.

You know, Tiger J, I've pointed out here before as a former Memphis student and current booster it may not be the smartest thing in the world to start talking smack in favor of U of M football. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

As far as recruiting is concerned, Scout currently has SMU ranked 59th and Memphis ranked 79th. And that includes Memphis's new QB recruit. Frankly I'm happy for the tigers, but the kid has been a car mechanic for, what, a couple of years now? In any case, good to see the tigers competitive.

Very nice. Along with Cook Memphis has brought in some very real talent, taking a not-so good class to a solidly mediocre one. My hometown school is making strides.

But Texas doesn't wait to offer, and this comes from an SMU fan. Texas has taken a long-term approach to developing a QB for a couple of years now, and that may mean that they passed on a superior talent than whatever bust they bring in next, but they made their decision.

Tell Pastner I said good luck. Hope he stays around for awhile.

Memphis is a mediocre college, at best. The campus is out dated. The neighborhoods within a 3-5 mile radius are crime riddled, I, in good conscience, would not send my kid there. Who goes there, btw? Memphis fans are notoriously bad sports, a real chip on the shoulder vibe. Looking at the area, campus, education, student body, alumni, one can begin to understand. It is A glorified JC, and they know it. Bball being down completely scalds them because essentially, that's all they got. Footballs rise gives them hope and brings out the cra_ we see on this board from a few of their diehards. I am glad their fball team is rising, good for a city that desperately needs something to cheer and rally around. At the end of the day, however, their sheepskin stills says, "Memphis State". BEAT Kent State!
