Kudos to Houston

Very impressive win, over a big time team, on a big time stage. They made the right hire and he brought in a great staff; that is killing it in recruiting. Expect their ticket sales to go up as well. Tom turned an 8 win team into a 13 win team, that was a 3rd string qb away from 14 wins. Stallion, do you know how many starters they lose...and how many of their freshman they redshirted?

I was at the game with my brother who went to UH. The atmosphere was amazing and UH took it to them and dominated. American needed that win. It was awesome when UH start doing the tomahawk chant at the end when it was sealed up!

From Tallahassee Democrat:

"...make no mistake, Houston is a very good team. And with 15 starters returning in 2016, including star quarterback Greg Ward, Jr., the 13-1 Cougars should definitely be in the playoff conversation next season."

Maybe they want to revisit the deal from a few years ago plus some?

Give them their due. They are where we want to be and have represented our conference very well. I got a great deal of pleasure out of UCF whipping Baylor in the bowl season and U of H has raised the image of our conference. Temple beating Pedo State in a big this season was another positive spotlight on the American. None of us are going anywhere else anytime soon so pull for the other conference members. Now its time for us to do our part by dominating TCU as we did when I was a student.

Chalk one up for scheme & coaching, over talent.

? They have recruited well for years, since Briles was there. They fired Levine because he wasn't doing enough with the talent on the roster, even though he went to a bowl and won it.

Herman is a fantastic coach that is putting them over the top. But there is plenty of talent on that roster.

There are no lesser athletes.

And there are no lesser coaches.

Yep. Talent based on recruiting classes/rankings/stars/offers.......however you want to slice it, not even close.

Coogs were a very complete football team this year. Lots of good players on defense and a potent offense. Things lined up really well for them. They got navy and Memphis at home. Not sure they had a really tough road trip. We played a pretty competitive first half against them. If not for the fumbilitis that bit us that night, and two of the most blatant holdings not called you will ever see, we should have been up by 14 at half. they were the better team obviously, but that game should have been much closer.
