Posted: Sat Apr 16, 2016 8:02 amOpening Day jitters will not be contained to the football field. Not having attended a SMU game-day, but based on my experience at Drive-thru's and sporting events across the Country, the following exchange will occur:
Exotic order will be placed at the beginning of the festivities: "Diet Coke and Hot Dog, please." Concession staffer will look puzzled, then turn and consult co-workers. Following two minute conference and nearly forgotten order, Appointed Conferee will inform Patron: "They don't have that." Hungry and exasperated patron will resign herself to: "Okay, how about something diet and a hamburger." Staff huddle resumes. Security personnel may be consulted. Second thought Security personnel will not be consulted (now things are looking up). Decision made. Action taken: "Here's your regular Dr. Pepper and chili-cheese fries."
First quarter jitters, I guess....
