Re: Helmets
In middle school, they made us wear helmets like this one handed down from the varsity (in the 1960's). http://www.footballhelmetsrus.com/dalla ... t-1960-63/ They sucked. If you collided just so, the other guy's "2 bar" would easily break your nose. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: HelmetsI met Bronco Nagurski. His hands were massive. He was a big man pumping gas in International Falls, MN.

Re: HelmetsThe Guardian caps are what they appear to be — an extra layer of protection against head injuries for the guys who take the most hits (mostly linemen). Just a different option than the one that Zach Line, etc., used. Those were a thin layer of material that is like Kevlar — these are designed to do the same things. Not sure if those individual sections are air pockets, some kind of foam, etc.
If nothing else, they make for interesting pictures, though. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Helmets
I too met and spent some time talking with Bronco Nagurski at this PURE brand gas station in International Falls which was not to far from where I finished high school. The station was located at the intersection of the road that went into down town and/or to the bridge into Fort Francis, Ontario. I also saw him wrestle on the local pro circuit where he was the main attraction based on his name. His two sons were excellent football players playing for Notre Dame followed by the Canadian Football League. As you noted, his hands were very large and gnarled, but at the time I met him possibly in his early 50s he was not as physically imposing as his name might suggest. I appreciated his time and warmth.
Re: HelmetsCan you imagine a today hall of fame player after retirement owning a gas station and pumping gas for the customers?

I'm sure OJ would be happy with that lifestyle right now SMU Class of 2014
Re: Helmets
I can think of a Heisman Trophy winner who could be pumping gas in the Fall. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Helmets
I would not hire him at my station. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Helmets
What about Troy smith? He recently told a cop he got a "degree in bachelors" from Ohio state. He seems qualified right? BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
