So the school fires their president / chancellor and the football coach, whose players' conduct is the root issue of this scandal, walks away clean?

"The feeling is if the board got rid of Art (Briles), they'd be sitting in a $300 million mausoleum instead of that new football stadium," one source close to the situation told [Horns Digest].
http://www.scout.com/college/texas/stor ... oust-starr$$$ aside, it's the president/chancellor's responsibility to implement compliant Title IX procedures.

Welcome to big time, winning, huge revenue generating, college football. Texas, TCU, SMU, Michigan, etc., etc. would all probably do the same. Is anyone really surprised?
Find a fall guy, feign concern and reform, play ball!

Doug Gottlieb show reports this is in fact already done, and that Ken Starr went into the meeting lawyered-up. In a twist of irony, one individual interviewed on the show said that Baylor will offer a "soft landing" for Starr, by offering him a position at Baylor's Law School. Apparently the June 3 date is in case any other staff will be let go as well.
My bet is Briles survives this, unless it is proved clearly that he covered up involvement in the sexual assault cases that involved football players. The AD could also be a casualty, but Briles may come out of this as damaged goods, and Baylor may get the wish of keeping him a bit longer because those "other" offers from bigger schools dry up.

Any president worth his/her salt would not agree to take on the job with Briles and this AD in place - setting them up for the next "event" taking them out also. He/She will insist on a clean house before they get there.
Of course this is Baylor, where hypocrisy reigns - so I could be wrong.

Asked about reports that the board of regents had voted to fire school President Ken Starr, university spokeswoman Lori Fogleman said in an email, "Ken Starr is president and chancellor of Baylor University." Fogelman did not elaborate.
In a separate statement issued by the university, Baylor said its board has not finished reviewing the report by Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton "and we anticipate further communication will come after the board completes its deliberations." The statement said the private university wouldn't comment on the reports about Starr, which cited unnamed sources. HornsDigest.com was the first to report that the board had decided to fire Starr.
"We will not respond to rumors, speculation or reports based on unnamed sources, but when official news is available, the University will provide it. We expect an announcement by June 3," the school said.
Starr did not immediately respond to a telephone message left at his office or email requests sent to university media relations.

That old sot Dale Hansen is going "unplugged" tonight at 10:00 on WFAA, although to watch him leaves me unhinged. I'm sure he will find a way to diss SMU during his "holier than thou" rant.

God bless that poor old sot...this must be like deja vu all over again, where he can pontificate all the injustices of college football and the laud the heroic doggedness of intrepid reporting...ahem.
Hansen has already used up his 15 minutes of fame with us, but the idiocy of actions ( and inactions ) of yet another "church school" football program will let him have relevance again...but just for another 15 minutes.
Like going to Baylor, you are still in Waco at the end of the day, and he still is Dale Hansen as his head hits the pillow.

They are just waiting until the full report is finished so they can fire all who will be fired at one time and get it over with. It may be just Starr or it could be several. It will be finished on June 3.
