Football's Future

Where is college football headed in the future? Maybe some of you techies can explain to an old codger who only enjoys watching in the stadium or on TV. No computer screen, no smartphone and no wristwatch. As for SMU I believe that our future is winning the AAC and playing in the Access Bowl. Don't see expansion opportunities for us. Big XII will not take another Texas team (sorry Houston) and would probably stop with Cincinnati and BYU if they go for anyone. I don't see any other teams that are worth the invite. Personally I enjoy the AAC and would rather be a big fish in a small pond than be Baylor before Briles/Griffin III in the Big XII. Any thoughts while all the swirling opinions about expansion and the demise of Baylor are going on?

"Personally I enjoy the AAC and would rather be a big fish in a small pond"

Finally......a realist who agrees with Hart. Time for everyone else to learn to love Tulane, ECU, Tulsa, Navy, USF, etc.

I don't know about that however those teams sure do love SMU as they repeatedly pile drive us.

Too funny.

FWIW, I don't see this as an either or proposition.

If only I had an overhead projector to explain this better.

Think x/y chart

P5 arrow pointing up, non-P5 pointing down.

Over time, gap between the 2 makes it impossible for non-P5 to compete.

Take away P5 non-conference games and SMU attendance plummets. Plus product itself will diminish as HS kids with legitimate P5 offers will most likely stay P5.
