Rumor is Stidham will go wherever Briles goes next year.

For the sake of argument, let's say A&M and UT both have openings next year. Whether Sumlin and Strong get fired, retire, move on for other jobs -- doesn't matter.

Briles, with all his baggage, is out there.
SMU goes somewhere around .500, making HCCM more attractive.
Cougar High has another strong year, making Herman more attractive.
Sweaty Gary has another annoyingly strong year in Fort Worth.
Kingsbury is still viewed as a promising young coach, although his record obviously doesn't measure up to what Briles and Sweaty Gary have done.

Who do A&M and UT go after? Personally, I think Herman replaces Strong in Austin. Just a matter of when.

Would either team go after Briles? Does Patterson want bigger and better things?

Patterson has had opportunities to bail and appears comfortable in Ft Worth. I do think Herman would jump at a blue blood type program and could certainly see him at Texas. Baylor and/or A&M may eventually snag Chad, assuming he enjoys some success at SMU. The jury is still out but I'm certainly optimistic he will elevate our program for the next guy.

I'm optimistic enough about Morris as a coach and as a recruiter that I have worried about him being poached almost since he arrived. But when presented against that list, I think I'm more worried that some school tries to hire him when their current coach takes one of those jobs.

I find it hard to believe that any good coach would leave a decent program to coach Baylor. I can't see it as a pinnacle coaching position and if you are already a head coach at a FBS school why would you need another stepping stone. I guess if it is all about the cash and Baylor is wiling to pay way above sticker they could entice someone.

Makes sense. Started driving a new car after he decommits from Texas Tech and has a part time job working at the Stephenville sporting goods store owned partly by Briles. He hauled ars out of Waco because he realized Chicken Little was right. All legit for sure.
