DALLAS - SMU has selected Paragon Sports Constructors to replace the synthetic turf playing field at Ford Stadium, with the new surface being ready for the 2016 football season.
The new synthetic turf field will be PowerBlade Bolt as manufactured by Shaw Sports Turf, a division of Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. The design for the new field will remain the same, featuring the Mustang logo at mid-field with 'SMU' and 'Mustangs' in opposing end-zones.
"Paragon has been a trusted and consistent advisor for SMU and has helped service the playing field at Ford Stadium for some time," said Kris Harris, SMU's Associate A.D. for Facilities and Event Services. "We are excited to work with them on this project knowing they will continue to service our facilities with the same transparency and professionalism they have to date. We look forward to unveiling the new playing surface for our student-athletes for the 2016 football season."
Paragon Sports Constructors personnel is currently removing the existing synthetic turf, with project completion scheduled for August 16, 2016.
"We have worked hard to earn the trust of SMU over the last several years," commented William Chaffe, President of Paragon Sports Constructors. "Being selected by SMU to provide the Mustangs with their new field is a great honor for our company and a testament of our commitment to service."
