Less than 48 hours after 247Sports broke the news of Florida quarterback Treon Harris transferring, colleges have reached out inquiring interest.

Southern Miss, Texas State and Georgia State have all spoken to Harris’ family. Several FCS programs including Florida A&M, Howard and Hampton have also made contact.

Many more programs — Minnesota, Kansas, SMU, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville State, East Carolina, Coastal Carolina and Mercer, according to sources — have interest and have requested Harris' release so they have the option to make contact.

There's no doubt the kid is a player, but he's has had off the field issues and lost his starting job at QB - most likely unrelated.

He's probably looking for another shot to start at QB. If he's open to try other positions then give him a chance, but read him the riot act as soon as he gets here.

I've probably watched every snap he's taken his entire college career ...let me sum up his abilities:

He's 5'9"; he's very slow; he can't make people miss; he isn't accurate; he has no arm; he has no football awareness; he's dumb and he's a criminal...other than that he's a great qb.

Ha...the only good throw in that 'highlight real' is to Calloway in the LSU game...every other one was to wide open guys w poor throws mostly against inferior teams...he's horrible.

I will say I wasnt overly impressed with his arm strength. Maybe I'm just being biased but iirc matts ball has a little more zip to it. Either way based on his highlights he looks like he could at least be a good stop gap if hicks or colbert don't pan out. I see what you mean all in all but as was mentioned, he does seem to be in fairly high demand.

Yeah, cause of one bad performance in the spring game. Looks like coach bro, mcelwain, harbaugh, herman and Morris guessed wrong. Glad we figured that out before he ever took a snap in an actual game.
