Facebook post is nice, but if he really believes what he said, he needs to do more. Send a letter to the Big 12, then call a press conference, or at least shoot an email/voicemail to the DMN letting them know that the City of Dallas wants SMU in the Big 12 and have communicated that. Although probably wouldn't mean much, at least we can claim some political figure is promoting us like Houston has.

Glad to see the Mayor lobbying for us, but agree that he needs to write a formal letter to Big XII to get a meeting and if that doesn't work call a press conference. It would definitely bring more fans and dollars into the Big D.

But in the media, anything within 75 miles of downtown Big D is considered "in Dallas". Witness the comments by the announcers during games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Tarrant County).

las Colinas is a subdivision in irving. it is not a city.

And strangely enough, during the telecast of the TCU/Baylor game held at Amon Carter stadium last year, one of the "color" commentators said that "...the weather here in Dallas is not good for football..."

Saw on Twitter that Fox 4 picked it up as well. And for those of you asking "why doesn't he contact the Big XII directly?", how do we know he hasn't. I get the sense that for every one mention you see in the press, there's at least a dozen other conversations going on that you'll never know about (unless you are in that elite $$$ class, and I sure and hell am not).
