I hope (and feel very confident it won't) we don't lay an egg like the last visit. Much better overall talent, far better coaching staff and a far more focus team should reverse the losing trend in Denton.

SMU leads the series 29-5-1, but UNT has a better winning pct both at home and away in the series. Math is the devil.

Fully expect the Mustangs to leave Denton with a win. A loss to a first time head coach at UNT might be one of the worst losses post DP.

Not math, more of a trick question. I am guessing you are referring to the fact that we owned them when they were NTSU, but now that they are UNT they have beaten us more often than not.

Technically SMU has lost the last 4 "road games" against NTSU. In 1978 when SMU was still playing home games at Cotton Bowl, we lost to NTSU which was coached by Hayden Fry and their QB was Kenny Washington (brother of OU great Joe). NTSU played half their games in 1977 at Texas Stadium. SMU moved to Texas Stadium the next year. Hayden really had NTSU going in 1977 finishing 10-1-- they easily had more fans than SMU at that game in Dallas County

High unemployment, tensions with Iran and the Russians, a republican TV/Movie star running for president to replace a democrat in the white house, racial tensions in the inner cities, crappy music taking over on the radio, crappy actor Mark Hamill in the highest grossing movie of the decade. SMU looking to rebuild with a new coach at the helm...

Yeah - it's a lot different.
