that's got to be a record other than early DP years. Really started to slowly work freshman in starting in second quarter. Might have missed a few LM. Its great we could work so many freshman in so early in the season. Seems like just about all the redshirt freshman contributed. Exciting

There is a participation list form SMU online:
http://www.smumustangs.com/cumestats.aspx?path=footballIncluding the punter, five true freshmen played

More than that-I got 19 true/redshirt freshman based on Participation Chart plus about 3-4 playing first game:
True
Jordan Ward
Ke'mon Freeman
Mikial Onu
Becker
Badejo
Blake Carlisle
Christan Davis
Jaime Sackville
Eric Sutton (?)(I thought I saw him play several times on KO and Defense but not in Participation Chart-Almost sure he was boundary defender on KO team)
Demerick Gary
Redshirt;
Clemons
James Proche
Alex Honey
Gaillard
Ben Hicks
Kevin Johnson
Delointe Scott
Hunter Thetford
Jordan Williams
Biggurs
Bryce Wilds
Upperclass Newbies:
J.T. Williams
Rex Printz
Sean Touhy
Austin Rolfe
That's about 1/3rd of the Traveling Squad. Turnover

Because so many players share numbers, it is very difficult to be sure who is playing. The link above is the official participation chart. Gary and Sutton didn't make the list.
Lots of RS freshman played.

I definitely saw #10 play several snaps at defensive end. Think it was the first half too. Had to be Gary.

Freeman looks like a keeper.

Mike Scott didn't play, neither did Jarvis Pruitt apparently, so depth was lower at dline than we thought last night. Probably allowed a few more snaps to D Gary and Delonte Scott.

Demerrick Gary definitely played-confirmed by at least 2 pictures in photo blog on smumustangs.com
http://www.smumustangs.com/galleries/?gallery=399apparently, that was Thomas not Sutton on Kickoff team. So final unofficial numbers are:
9 True Freshman
11 Redshirt/Medical Freshman
4 First Year Transfers
Total: 24

Well given how bad we were in 2014 we may as well have been given the DP

Sorry I overlooked the link. Thanks. New question. What is the current requirement to letter in football at SMU? Participation in a certain number of games or quarters or being on the field for some minimum number of games during the season?

The Letter issue is interesting. According to his profile, Natour played in four games and started three in 2015. But, he remains listed as a squad guy?

Colbert is shown as zero for one passing in the individual stats box.
To me the chart is unsatisfactory or at least incomplete in that it does not show for how many plays someone was on the field but only achievements such number of tackles, etc.
Or maybe I have not figured it out.
