Do we have the best home schedule

of any non-P5 FBS school? I bring this up because we have no excuses not to have decent attendance this season. We need to average in the 25k range with this schedule.

Liberty - okay. The one hole in our schedule. It is the first home game coming off at worst a 1-1 start on the road so hopefully we have a decent turnout. I'm hoping for 20k but 17k might be more realistic.

TCU - really don't need to say much. Big 12 power. Our hated arch-rival. Purple sucks. Better be a sellout.

Houston - Our second biggest rival. The hottest team in college football right now. A candidate for the Big 12. They will bring a TON of people to this game. Should be another sellout.

Memphis - one of the biggest stories in college football last season. Another Big 12 candidate. I think this is a winnable game. Expect 20-22k for this one.

USF - along with Houston one of the AAC favorites to win the conference. Also, in the mix for the Big 12. This game worries me attendance wise though. Unless we are doing well, I'll say 18k for this one.

Navy - I think it is an honor to play Navy. So much history and they are really a good team. I'm sure Roger Staubach will be there. Should be a well attended game. 28k.

So you are giving us the Baylor road win before Liberty?

We do have an attractive schedule for a non-P5.

Liberty attendance would greatly be helped by a competitive showing versus Baylor. I think official number is 21K for opener with many less than that in stands.

TCU and UH are sellouts, because of their fanbases and Coogs are THE thing right now. 32K+ for both

Memphis and USF are gonna be tough games to sell to the casual fan, which is the biggest problem with the AAC. Non-Texas teams or out-of-conscience schools for DFW folk are a hard sell. Lucky to draw 17K for either, but could be boosted if Ponies are playing for something after a couple key wins.

Navy could be awesome if a bowl game is on the line, but if not, it may be a miserable turnout as Thanksgiving weekend has many traveling or with other plans. 24K if SMU is at 5+ wins, 17K if not.

Chad is moving the program toward relevance. He just needs a signature win to really get some buzz and have things start to take off.

Liberty - I'll say 18k.
TCU - 28k.
Houston - Our second biggest rival, but they don't travel that well, plus we'll most likely be 2-4 at this point in the season. I'll say 23k if Coogs are undefeated, otherwise 18k.
Memphis - There is a reason B12 already snubbed them. It's Homecoming, so 17k.
USF - 14k.
Navy - Roger Staubach would be a great addition, but it's Thanksgiving weekend, so 15k.

Also believe whatever attendance issues we have with Memphis and USF existing B12 schools would have as well even if they were conference mates.

SoCal,
You gonna make in for a game (football or hoops) this season? If so, let me know.

Completely agree. That would be Baylor, TCU or Houston this year. Given our increasing talent level, signature win will more likely occur next season. Unfortunately, next year there are only 1 or 2 opportunities at most.

TCU on the road, maybe Coogs on the road.

I'm actually traveling a lot overseas, so probably not this season.

Do plan to attend the USC bball game. Hope to see you there.

Yes, I'll be there. My ex still lives in Culver City so I'll get to see my dog and the Ponies. We'll definitely have to meet up for a drink. I'm staying in the South Bay.

We haven't sold out versus TCU at Ford since 2010. We were 2-1 and coming off a surprise bowl season and they were in the Top 5. God knows when we have ever sold out a home game versus Houston. We need to be .500 or better and they need to bring at least 10K of their fans for that game to sell out. Last time we played Navy at Ford we were 6-3 and only drew 21k.

Agree sbsmith. Last time TCU was in Dallas was the gawd-awful 2014 Tom Mason-led team.

UH has brought less than stellar crowds, but this is THE year for them, so unless we just get drilled between now and then, there will be a very good turnout.

We could get up to 25k butts in seats for that one with an evening start time and good weather.

The 2012 tcu game was a monsoon it was miserable to sit through and I don't blame people for leaving that one. The 2014 game we sucked and I also don't blame people for not wanting to sit through that. The tcu game this year is parents weekend and I expect it to resemble the 2010 game again even if our record isn't outstanding, there's still definite buzz about the program. The only issue with that game is its a Friday. But on the flip side, a Friday night game on ESPN will make it more exciting for people to want to attend.
