I just glanced but got a notice from Kyle Noesen from SMU saying this was the major change planned for the Blvd this year. TCU game an exception.

Interesting. Curious. I would like to know the rationale behind this.

What was it before this year....I always felt it shut down a couple hours before the game.

Always had been two hours. Told this is to accommodate the player's walk.

The 2016 BLVD information page still states the following:

Boulevard Guidelines
The Boulevard closes to vehicle traffic two hours prior to kickoff, the exception being the Homecoming game when the Boulevard will close to traffic three hours prior to kickoff. Vehicles will not be allowed on The Boulevard without an official SMU vendor pass

Greetings all Boulevard 2016 Space Holders,

I hope this message finds each of you well.

I have attached a number of documents for your review for this season. Included are our Rules and Regulations, M&M Special Events pricing for this year, our Preferred Caterers list, and a reminder of Ford Stadium’s Clear Bag Policy.

By and large the Rules and Regulations are the same with the exception of one item. The Boulevard will now close 3 hours prior to kickoff, with the exception of the TCU game. In order to accommodate as many people as possible we will keep the Boulevard open to vehicle traffic until the 2-hour mark, 5pm. We fully understand and appreciate the challenges caused by a Friday evening game, however, please plan to arrive early and plan for what is expected to be heavy traffic.

We truly appreciate each of your support of SMU Athletics and the Boulevard. I’m available at any time to answer questions and concerns that anyone may have. I am also reachable on gameday via my cell phone below and will be patrolling on golf cart throughout the day to address any issues that should arise.

Have a wonderful 2016 season and, again, THANK YOU for your support of SMU Athletics.

Pony Up!

Best,

Kyle Noesen

Only ones that are affected got the email so shouldn't be an issue. Oh, wait...SMU fans don't read their emails.

true, but some spot owners share their space, and why not update the website rather than have incorrect information on the official website?
