At the start of the game, they showed a shot of Colbert in street clothes. #wtf
We better protect Hicks.

They have to do a better job of getting that news out.

Don't expect Coach Morris to be transparent with injury info. Xavier Jones has been day to day for a while now and let's not forget Matt Davis was "day to day" for a while until he had to reveal the torn Acl. I'm not sure what's wrong with Colbert, I'm sure someone here knows.
I thought Carmouche looked stiff and like a LB playing RB but it's a small sample size and maybe it was just me.

Carmouche looked like someone who wasn't going to fumble unless they ripped his arms from his body. For a true freshman who hasn't played RB since ??? Grade, that seemed like a good strategy.

Really? I thought he looked pretty lethargic. Unexplosive. Not fast, or quick.

X. Jones was dressed and looked ready. Colbert was not in uniform. I kept calling for them to put Colbert in when Hicks tweaked his back and my grandson pointed to the sideline and mentioned there was a guy in a Colbert jersey with no pads.

who is taking snaps in practice behind Colbert? Is Kemon a possibility as a "running" QB?

If I were to guess I'd say maybe Connor simpson. I remember seeing on here that he performed the best in the spring game (at the very least wasn't 5/20). That or rock, Sam carey, or even ke'mon like you said.

Actually Kemon can throw it pretty well. But he is now one of our power backs.

Maybe this was the reason Carmouche's redshirt was burned this week? So there will still be a power back if ke'mon takes snaps. Would make sense, if they're looking to keep rock's redshirt but would still like a mobile qb.

Collin Rock's jersey number is 12 and he is listed on the roster as a QB now. Believe he had a different number and was listed as a DB when we played North Texas.

I agree with the Conner Simpson statement. He looked good in the spring and would be an adequate replacement short term (series or two or a game). If a replacement for the balance of the year was needed then perhaps Rock. That is why there are coaches and practice

I pointed the Colbert thing out at the game. Really surprised by that and was worried for Hicks.
Surprised they pulled the redshirt from Carmouche. He isn't as good of a runner as Freeman - he is a little bigger, but Freeman hits the hole harder and has elusiveness. Thomas is really good and can run between the tackles... I guess they are trying as hard as they can to separate him from Jones.
Jones obviously pulled a hamstring in practice before the NT game and it wasn't a cramp. This staff is going to bury all injury information (just like pretty much every staff in college football). I hope that they just held Jones out to make sure he was ready for TCU.
