Even Tualne will be a tough game for SMU if the team does not play any better than today on offense. Bright spots were Castille and West.

The coaching is a concern I didn't expect from this staff.

It's not. Still have recruit better offensive lineman imo. We'll have some better QB's next year.

Hicks is not ready. Looks like Burcham at this point.

The team is vastly better than the team they inherited.
- Although they are probably a year away from being a really good defense, Malone has put together a nice defense using an enormous number of very young players.
- Morris inherited a D3 OL backed up by D4 talent. 2 years later, they are better but not great. Considering what the had to work with, the OL coaching gets a B+.

Although Davis isn't a grewat passer, his mobility is a huge threat and his loss was enormous. If he plays the entire season, the rest of the team is good enough to compete for a Bowl game. Colbert is hurt. That leaves Hicks. Unless our 4th team walk on QB is better than the last one we had to play, we are stuck with Hicks.

Hicks will be better in the 2nd Half of season than Davis was in 2nd half of season last year

19-32 207 yards is a decent games since we basically didn't pass much in 2nd half

Disappointing coaching in this game. Don't we have a "wildcat" play or something to put in so Hicks doesn't have to be intercepted in the end zone !

220 something yards by Braedon West is ugly :?: :?: :?: :?:

Buncha interceptions one for a pick 6, totaling 9 for this year, is ugly :?: :?: :?: :?: We had
10 total last year :!:

I think we were a 7 point favorite according to Sagarin. Was gonna be a dogfight :!:

What is ugly is our red zone production. If we have a more dual threat QB than Hicks, maybe
put him in inside the 20. Hayden Fry would've ala Mac White :!:

While there were a few bright spots overall it was an ugly game that SMU could have lost. Just don't see whp SMU will be clearly favored against fro this point on in the season.

Our dual threat QB - Colbert- broke his hand playing X Box and is out until November.

But we do have a true freshman who was recruited to play safety.

It was ugly. Multiple major penalties that stopped drives, poor red zone execution, offensive line that looked lost. All against a middle tier FCS team.

So, unless we really pick up our QB play we will struggle mightily this year.

no idea what issue is with Colbert but agree - Hicks is just not ready. It won't go well Friday.

How did that happen? Did he punch a wall after losing a game?
