But one of those wins is our best against their traditional King Kong Daddy - UH over OU. The worst team in either conference right now is probably Kansas, a Big XII school, and ISU would probably struggle in our conference. Meanwhile Cincy, USF, ECU, and even possibly Temple could do just fine in that conference right now.
Let us somehow upset TCU and Memphis beat Ole Miss again - neither are outside the realm of possibility. I'm not a lawyer, but at some point in time you have to wonder how much success the AAC is allowed to have before they get raided, and someone brought up the point that that may be considered tampering. Maybe not, but it may allow the conference some time to continue to rise.
The AAC is much closer to a P5 conference (especially at the top of the conference) than many people give them credit for and Kansas/ISU would fit right in at the bottom of the AAC FB standings.
But, I felt the authors analysis was fundamentally flawed. Wins over bottom feeders don't count for squat. UH's win over OU counted. ECU beat NC State, SMU Beat TCU

Those wins count.
The 'author'? Wow. I feel like people now.

Keep in mind the wins over bottom feeders apply to them, too.
Texas beat UTEP
Kansas beat Rhode Island
Baylor beat NW State, Rice, and SMU
Oklahoma beat ULM
KSU beat FSU
OSU beat Southeastern Louisiana (how many directional schools does Louisiana have?)
TCU beat SDSU (that's South Dakota, not San Diego)
TTU beat SFA and Louisiana Tech
West Virginia beat Youngstown State
I mean, seriously, they are almost ALL bottom feeder wins. The
only marquee win for the Big 12 so far has been UT over Notre Dame. There are some okay wins over Mizzou and Pitt, but that's it. And that doesn't include, of course, the losses.
So the American is flat beating the Big 12 right now. I'm not saying it's as good a conference, but it has outperformed them so far. We beat TCU and the American will go to 3-1 against them.
Nanne-nanny-boo-boo!
