I know some wanted him fired last year but he is doing a really nice job as he continues to recruit his type of players to run that defense.

After last year, I was concerned about the choices he made. I am not positive, but I bet we have the most improved defense in D1.

Unfortunately, we lost 36% of our starting lineup on offense + two key backups to injuries. Hicks hasn't been great, but he isn't 100% of the problem.

2 of our three RB's are true freshmen who didn't play RB in high school. We are on our third LT and the LG is hurt as well,

Our defense is only greatly improved to those of us that have witnessed it. The numbers are not good. But a lot of it is the offenses fault. I am very impressed with our defense but we are giving up over 500 yards a game I do believe.

In just about every game the defense has played well enough to give the offense an opportunity to win.

I think we also need to recognize the S&C coach.

In what world is going from 45 points per game (2nd to last in the FBS) to 27 points per game (T76) not an enormous improvement. When you factor in how many freshmen & RS freshmen we are playing, The progress is even more profound.

I think our defense is doing very well and am sorry if you got the wrong idea. But go to the man on the street and say "Our defense is great, we only give up 500 yards a game." and I do not think they would understand.

Defense is much better. I liked the style we played in the first 3 games. Disappointed that he went so vanilla after DM got ejected and TCU started going 4 wide. Playing a flat 4-3 and killing the blitz really hurt us the rest of the game.

Silver lining: we kept Baylor to 0 TDs and OSU gave up 3 TDs in the first half. Oklahoma state actually has an offense albeit not an amazing one.

If our offense could stay on the field longer and eat up more of the clock, the other team would not get the chance to run up so many yards. Having said that, TCU took our secondary to the shed for a good whipping in the second half.
