As a Texas Ex, I want them to beat OU; however, I think Strong is unlikely to ever become an elite HC.

Good doesn't cut it when National titles are the goal. Off the top of my head, coaches who are easily better than strong: Saban, Harbaugh, Shaw, Patterson, Fisher, Stoopes, Meyer, Petrino.

You might have a shot at Shaw and Petrino, realistically the others would not go to Texas.

Agree. Petrino will never get the job and Shaw seems like a WC guy.

They are going to need to find the next great coach. I want them to bring in Herman.

Texas doesn't have any more right to national titles than anyone else. It's not a program that has been consistently great year in and year out like Alabama. Top program yes, but there is too much parity for any teams fan base to have the idiotic expectations that UT fans have.

Not even a great program, they have been as good as the June teams at SMU win wise.

The goal at SMU should be national titles too. That's the goal for I think the 128 teams in FBS...if that ain't your goal, drop down to FCS and move outta the way.

Under Strong, they have underperformed Baylor and TCU and OU.

TCU had to kick to Kansas with a little over 7 minutes and still trailing 23-21

Well he had a big problem to fix, plus those programs are all top programs with plenty of success. The guy is fixing it. Don't be an infant that has no patience.
