The announcer also showed where the laces are also thicker as well to help him to grip the football. Good move by the staff.

he has still thrown some ugly balls but he's making good reads and finding the open guy. Really playing well but for the most part, the OL has given him some time and good passing lanes tonight

If Ben Hicks can play like he did in the first half against Houston it's no telling how many games the team can win this year. Especially if the defense continues to play this well.

There must be some NCAA violation in using a small football. Sounds like SMU gate scandal for using balls that were too small and gave advantage to a small handed QB who is used to fluttering passes.

Uhhh this is the first I've heard of it being allowed to use a smaller football. Surely it's just the thicker laces which are within the rules but you can't use a smaller than regulation football.

They all fall within regulation size. Nothing to see here. It has been going on for at least 48 years from my experience.

Yep just looked up the verbatim language. There are uniform standards for weight, circumference, and an acceptable range of lengths.

I believe the team is allowed to take their own balls with them. I don't believe UH used our balls, I believe they had their own.
