Took my purple wearing nephew to the game tonight and as we walked out of Ford he said at least one of his teams won today

Good for him. He is a good SMU fan. He goes to more games than a lot of our fans.

I also want to give the staff a lot of credit, and that starts with Morris. I've been very critical of his play calling the past few games and I still believe that criticism was justified, but he allowed Hicks and the offense to open the game up more against Houston.

Malone gets the game ball because he called a perfect game on the defensive side. You can't say enough about how he has grown and improved as a DC in two years.

Great win and I'm seeing improvement from the entire coaching staff. That is all we can ask for. I'm still a little ticked we didn't get that Tulsa game because sitting 4-3 would be awfully sweet right now but I'm going to enjoy this win over the #11 team in the country.

Hopefully that nephew can eventually shed the color purple. Never looked good on anyone.

as the TV guys commented, Morris, Malone & Craddock spent a lot of time in the off week reviewing all of Houston's games from last year and decided we had the best game plan of anyone they played. Difference was that our guys have matured since last year and this team has a little more depth. Future looks bright, for sure

Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech all lost as well. Baylor was off so they did not win. We were the highest profile team in a Texas to win yesterday.
