Big Al's- Memphis REVENGE!!!

Quotes from HCCM on radio postgame:
"we were going through the motions"
"Memphis wanted it more"
"we didn't do anything well in any phase"
"very disappointed" multiple times.
"worst we've played all year"
"no energy"
"lackadaisical"
"uninspired"
"worst our defense has tackled all season"
"big step back"

Ben Hicks quotes:
"most embarrassed I've ever been"
"team doesn't know how to win" "not capable of multiple wins"
"poor focus during week"
"nobody played well"
"no energy during the week"

PAYBACK TIME 63-0:
We have heard from players and coaches, how that game changed our approach to the off season--
51-7 was the result.
Memphis has beaten SMU by a combined score of 114-7 the last two seasons.
Memphis has a first year-first time head coach.
Small deja vu: After emotional win against Tulane last season, we then faced a Memphis team that had lost 3 games in a row...prison raped 63-0. Coming off comeback win at Tulane last week..
pass the Vaseline...51-7

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES:
We had many fans, that came to see this team for the first time this season. They had to think...... "holy ###% @&%#!!!!"

STATUS QUO:
Before the season, Big Al thought we would have a good chance against north Texas state, Liberty and Tulane...with hopes of one upset.

Vegas still scratching their heads with this team.

SPEACIAL TEAMS:
Holy crap Batman, they are consistently terrible in every game. Coach Riley and Gunn have to face the guillotine.
I've never heard SMU fans boo like they did, after the second 4th and short yardage punt.

Ben Hicks is going to get one of our receivers killed, or at least broken ribs.

OL was abysmal.

Braden West injury is getting worse.

Badejo only played late in the game. D Scott getting more time at DE.

"program changer" from Houston.....tap the brakes.

Well sadly, you are on the money. The Special Teams coaches need to pack up their desks today. Out Graduate Assistants could do better.

It's too early to start drinking.
Just when I think we've turned the corner

I still have full faith in HCCM and am excited about the future. I see the redshirts and commitments and know we are in the right direction. But 4th an short on the Memphis 32 needing a spark to get back in the game and choosing to punt has me still baffled.

It's called lack of confidence in the team. Why should he go for it when they have not shown the CAN.

I hardly feel that 51 to 7 is a step in the right direction.
And if the team can't get motivated and doesn't feel like playing football pack your bags and hit the bricks.

And someone needs to lose their job. Or be publicly flogged oh wait a second we already did that

Are we really this bad?

Yes; we are still a pretty sorry team, but this time we might actually be 1-1/2 recruiting classes away from that no longer being the case.

I hesitate...but maybe Chad Morris is like Mack Brown...top recruiter, sometimes questionable game manager, weak game-week motivator...^^^all if this stuff in the quotes above sounds like a CEO problem if you put them in a business context.

The just look at it as a continuation of yesterday's drinking.

SMU is a QB and a few redshirted players away from being a decent team consistently. They will have that next year.

Defense has regressed the last 2 games. Tulane has been inept at the forward pass this season, yet was able to light up our secondary, and also gave up a number of long runs. Yesterday, the defense looked as porous as anything we've seen in recent years.

I feel for our kick returners, someone is going to get hurt. Did anyone else see James Proche bark at one of our non-combatants, after getting crushed around the 10 yard line?

Its so bad I think our returners should be instructed not to return kickoffs--they won't make the 25 and there's a 50% chance of a foul
