It's official.

The SMU athletic department is releasing the following statement from defensive end Markus Pratt regarding his suspension from the Mustang football program.
"I have been suspended from the SMU football team for the fall for not meeting university academic requirements. My goal is to try and do everything possible to be re-admitted into school for the spring semester, then do everything I can to be eligible to play football next season. I wish my teammates and coaches the best of luck this year."
Pratt, a native of Navasota, Texas, would have been a senior in 2001 but has yet to be redshirted in his career. He led SMU in sacks (six) and tackles for loss (14) last season and finished seventh on the team with 54 tackles.
