Even the announcers multiple times have mentioned it would be better for us to just kick it out of bounds, or squib it everytime. It's really ridiculous still not fixed, HS game at last night both teams kicking game better. Chad is numbers guy, better them start at 35 than the 50 every time.

Timing and disruption of the blocking pattern. But you still need to maintain lanes and tackle.

Don't worry, someone is getting 6 figures to coach special teams. We got this

I see - thanks.

still think squibbing would result in huge KO returns. no distance or hang-time

Worse than some H.S. programs I've seen. Obviously a huge challenge for Coach Morris

Worse I have ever seen. Watch other teams' kickoff coverage. It is obvious the difference.

Most times special teams are the young - up and comers that don't play a position yet. Due to depth. We are not in position to have depth and if you want special teams to be better - Sutton, wyatt and other first team players would be running.

I see it as a depth issue due to "the one that shall not be named" leave the talent low.

Need 3 or 4 Zach Line types. He was a terror on kick off team.

I tend to agree but the only problem is that our kick coverage team (as bad as they were at times) was better in JJ's final year and this year's group seems far worse than last year.

Its the kicks. Low, short and no hang time means you are going to get nailed on returns. We are lucky it hasn't been worse. Good kick off return teams start with good kickers.

Also no contain, no lane integrity, no wild and crazy blocking busts, poor tackling, and overall lack of speed. Just tweak those and we are fine.
